Curated by Claire Watson for Hatch Contemporary Art Space, City of Banyule, Seventh Skin presented a collection of artworks which grappled with the universal concepts of identity, gender and cultural heritage. Through costume, theatre, decoration and embellishment, the artists presented striking imagery which explored the way we embellish the human and animal form to either disguise or reveal aspects of the human condition. The exhibition offered a collection of works which challenged social conventions, questioned material culture and reminded us of our primal origins and invites the viewer to reimagine and ponder the way in which we outwardly express our everyday selves.
